Omaka airfield.  Home to the Aviation Heritage Centre, the Marlborough Aero Club and the Marlborough Gliding Club and numerous private aircrafts, both airfields just 5 minutes from down town Blenheim.

The internationally acclaimed air show, held every 2nd Easter Weekend, is held at Omaka.

The Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre is a world class museum of static and flyable aircraft, dating back to WW1 circa and is a must do activity.

It is advertised as the best aviation museum in the world, (it's got to be close).

Whale Watching tours just 90 minutes away, down the coast at Kaikoura.  On the way, stop and see the seals resting on the rocks and enjoying the sun on their backs.  If you have time, take a 15 minute walk up a side stream and meet up with the seal cubs, who for safety reasons have been hidden away, by their mothers, from the large bull seals.

The tranquil maze of coves and inlets of the Marlborough Sounds is a holiday-maker's delight, the stark beauty of the Awatere, the Wairau and Waihopi Valley's are unique and captivating regions with a wealth of attractions for visitors.

Go cruising the Sounds with Marlborough Travel.  The company will take you on a regular tour with a large number of people or you can enjoy a personal tour on an Odyssea charter.

Check out Marlborough Tour Company.

During the summer months the toll road through the high country of Molesworth Station is open to the public.  This road is un-sealed and is best suited for vehicles with a high wheel clearance.  A self drive tour will take you back to the difficulties encounter by the pioneers as they tried to travel the length of the South Island.

So ........ why aren't you here...?
